Summary: This article explains how to present your hosting under your own brand, including the branding that works on every plan and the cPanel custom branding available on Agency, Agency Plus, and Scale.

What you can brand on every plan

Every reseller plan is your own private VPS, so the main pieces your clients see can carry your brand from day one:

  • Private nameservers: Use ns1.yourbrand.com and ns2.yourbrand.com instead of generic names. See Set Up Private (White-Label) Nameservers.
  • Server hostname: Name your server something like server1.yourbrand.com in WHM under Networking Setup » Change Hostname. Clients see it in login URLs and some cPanel screens.
  • Login addresses: Clients can log in at https://their-domain.com:2083, https://cpanel.their-domain.com, or https://server1.yourbrand.com:2083. None of these mention Liberation.
  • Welcome emails and documentation: Write your own welcome message with login details, support contacts, and help links, and send it from your own address or billing system.
  • Billing: You bill your clients directly, and Liberation never markets to or bills your clients. See Billing Your Clients and Using WHMCS.

Want your server's reverse DNS (PTR record) to match your branded hostname? Open a ticket with the hostname and we'll look into it.

Custom cPanel branding (Agency, Agency Plus, and Scale)

Custom branding of the cPanel interface is a cPanel Premier feature. Agency, Agency Plus, and Scale plans use a cPanel Premier license, so these plans can put your logo and details inside cPanel itself.

Step-by-step

  1. Log in to WHM as root.
  2. Go to cPanel » Customization.
  3. On the Logos tab, upload your logo in two versions, one for light backgrounds and one for dark backgrounds, and add a short description of the image.
  4. On the Colors tab, set the main menu background color to match your brand.
  5. On the Links tab, point the documentation and help links to your own knowledgebase or support page.
  6. On the Public Contact tab, enter your company name and a contact URL for public-facing pages.
  7. Save your changes on each tab.

These settings change the cPanel interface your clients use. They don't change WHM.

Test your branding

  1. Go to Account Functions » List Accounts and click the cPanel icon next to a test account to open its cPanel.
  2. Check your logo on the login page and inside the dashboard, and click the help links to confirm where they go.
  3. If something doesn't update, clear your browser cache or try a private window.

For details on each setting, see cPanel's Customization documentation.

On Launch or Studio?

Launch (cPanel Admin) and Studio (cPanel Pro) don't include cPanel's custom branding. You can still:

  • Use private nameservers and a branded hostname
  • Send clients your own welcome emails, guides, and invoices
  • Give clients login links on their own domain, such as cpanel.their-domain.com

To brand cPanel itself, upgrade to Agency or higher. Open a ticket to request the upgrade. See Upgrading or Downgrading Your Reseller Plan.

Keeping the relationship yours

White-labeling goes beyond logos. Under our Reseller Client Protection Policy:

  • We contact you, not your client, about any issue with a client site.
  • If one of your clients contacts us directly, we notify you and give you first right to do the work.

Still stuck? Open a ticket

Our U.S.-based support team is available 24/7. Open a support ticket from the Liberation Client Area and include your plan name and a short description of what you see (screenshots help). Tickets are private, so they are the safe place to share server details. Never post passwords in public forums or chats.
