Every VPS Hosting plan (Foundation, Growth, Commerce, and Scale) includes one free domain registration. This article explains which domains qualify, how to claim yours, and what to do if something looks off.
Which domains are free
Your free domain must use one of these extensions:
- .com
- .net
- .org
- .info
- .blog
- .me
- .biz
Any other extension (for example .io, .co, or a country-code domain) is not included in the free bundle price — you can still register it, but it will be charged at the normal rate.
How to claim your free domain
- Start checkout from the VPS Hosting plan you want.
- When prompted, search for the domain you want and select it — make sure it ends in one of the eligible extensions above.
- Continue to your cart. You should see the domain listed with a discount that brings it to $0.00 for this billing term.
- Complete checkout as normal.
If the domain isn't showing as free
This almost always means the extension you chose isn't on the eligible list above. Go back to the domain search step and try a .com, .net, .org, .info, .blog, .me, or .biz instead. If you picked an eligible extension and it's still not discounted, open a support ticket with a screenshot of your cart and we'll fix it.
Registering a domain you already own instead
If you'd rather use a domain you already own, choose the "I will use my existing domain" option at checkout instead of registering a new one. Your free domain registration won't apply in that case, but you can point your existing domain at your new VPS — see our domain and DNS articles for how to update nameservers.
