For your Liberation Email or Hub for Teams mailboxes to send and receive at your own domain, the domain needs the DNS records below. If your domain uses our default nameservers and was set up by us, these are already in place. If your domain’s DNS is somewhere else (GoDaddy, Cloudflare, Wix, your own cPanel, etc.), add them there.

Important: Each domain also gets a unique verification TXT record (starts with lts-verification=) and sometimes a DKIM record. These are shown in the Client Area under My Services > Hub for Teams > Manage > Hub Domains for your domain, or we send them to you. Add those exactly as given.

The records

TypeName / HostValue / Points toPriority
MX@mx1.liberation.email10
MX@mx2.liberation.email10 (or 20)
TXT (SPF)@v=spf1 include:_spf.liberation.email -all
CNAMEautoconfigmail.liberation.email
CNAMEautodiscovermail.liberation.email
SRV_autodiscover._tcpmail.liberation.email port 443, weight 1010
TXT@lts-verification=… (your unique code)

Already sending from another service?

You can only have one SPF record. If you already have one (for example from Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Brevo or your website’s mail service), add include:_spf.liberation.email to it instead of creating a second one. For example:
v=spf1 include:_spf.liberation.email include:_spf.google.com ~all

Check your setup

  1. Go to MXToolbox, type your domain and choose MX Lookup. You should see only mx1.liberation.email and mx2.liberation.email.
  2. Run an SPF Record Lookup. You should see exactly one record that includes _spf.liberation.email.
  3. If you see any other MX records, including one that points to your own domain (a default left behind by old hosting), delete them. Extra MX records are the number-one cause of "some emails never arrive".
