When you open an email template, look above the editor toolbar for Toggle Stripo template builder.

  • On (Stripo template builder): a modern drag-and-drop editor — drop in rows, columns, images, buttons and social blocks without writing HTML. This is the recommended editor for most templates.
  • Off: the classic editor — a rich-text/HTML source view. Use this if you're pasting in HTML you already built elsewhere, or making a small text tweak to a template that was originally built outside the drag-and-drop builder.

Switching the toggle changes which editor loads for that template; it doesn't delete your existing content, but a template built in one editor can look different when opened in the other (spacing and structure don't always translate 1:1). If a template you were previously editing now looks unfamiliar, check whether the toggle changed rather than assuming the content was lost.

Tip: Not sure which editor a template was built in? Open it and check the toggle position first, before making changes — switching mid-edit can rearrange blocks.

Having trouble with the drag-and-drop builder specifically (blocks not loading, a blank editor, or an error when opening it)? Open a support ticket with the template name and a screenshot.
