Sync calendar and contacts to your device

Calendars and Contacts in Liberation Mail are sync'd using the CalDAV and CardDAV protocols.
This guide provides details on how to get sync URL's and to configure common clients.

NOTE: This guide is for Liberation Mail customers, refer to the Hub for Teams Knowledgebase if you are using Hub for Teams.

Find the Link to the Calendar Server (CalDAV)

You can find the link to sync with your Liberation Mail calendar by following these steps:

  1. After logging into Liberation Mail, click on the calendar icon on the upper-right hand corner.
  2. Next to the calendar name on the left-hand menu (by default it’s “Personal Calendar”) click on the three vertical dots to display the options for that calendar and choose “Links to this calendar”.
  3. You will then see the CalDAV, WebDAV ICS, and WebDAV XML URLs.

Find the Link to the Contacts Server (CardDAV)

You can find the link to sync with your Liberation Mail contacts by following these steps:

  1. After logging into Liberation Mail, click on the address book icon on the upper-right hand corner.
  2. Next to the calendar name on the left-hand menu (by default it’s “Personal Address Book”) click on the three vertical dots to display the options for that calendar and choose “Links to this Address Book”.
  3. You will then see the CardDAV link.

Sync with Outlook

You can use Outlook CalDAV Synchronizer to link your Liberation Mail calendar with Outlook on Windows.

Sync Calendars or Contacts with Mac OS X or iOS

For Apple Calendar and Contacts, create CalDAV and CardDAV accounts with the following settings:

  • Account Type: Advanced
  • User Name: <email address> (for example: [email protected])
  • Password: <email password>
  • Server Address : mail.liberation.email
  • Server Path: /SOGo/dav/<email> (for example:/SOGo/dav/[email protected])
  • Port: 443
  • Use SSL: yes

Sync Calendars or Contacts with Android

  1. Install DAVx⁵ (formerly known as DAVDroid) on your Android device, from Google Play Store or from F-Droid.

  2. Optionally install OpenTasks (Google Play Store or F-Droid).

  3. Create a new account (“+” button).

  4. Select Connection with URL and username.
    Base URL: https://mail.liberation.email/SOGo/dav/<email>
    Contact Group Method: as credentials.

  5. Choose the option Groups are per-contact categories.

  6. Click Connect.

  7. Select the data you want to sync.

  8. When requested, grant access permissions to DAVx⁵ for your contacts, calendars and optionally tasks.

Tip

DAVx⁵ lists the calendar subscriptions made through the Calendar app, but you need to install the ICSx⁵ (formerly known as ICSDroid) app on your Android device, from the Google Play Store or from F-Droid to sync them.
