Desktop and mobile synchronization

For synchronizing files with your desktop computer, we recommend using the Hub Sync Client for Windows, macOS and Linux. You can download the Desktop app here:https://hubforteams.com/downloads

The Hub Desktop Sync Client enables you to connect to your Hub Server. You can create folders in your home directory, and keep the contents of those folders synced with your Hub server. Simply copy a file into the directory and the Hub desktop client does the rest. Make a change to the files on one computer, it will flow across the others using these desktop sync clients. You will always have your latest files with you wherever you are.

Installation Wizard

The installation wizard takes you step-by-step through configuration options and account setup. First, you need to enter the URL of your Hub server.

  • Install and start the “Hub For Teams” app.
    • If the “Could not import accounts from legacy client configuration” notice pops up you can safely discard it
  • Enter the URL for your Hub For Teams instance. The URL can be found in your browser address bar when you visit your Hub Dashboard.

  • After you click the Next button your web browser should open and prompt you to login into your Hub For Teams instance. Enter your username and password and grant access.
    • Please keep in mind that you might not need to enter your credentials if you are already logged in.
  • Once you are back in the app, select folders that you want to sync and click the Connect button.

.

Now your web browser should open and prompt you to login into your Nextcloud instance. Enter your username and password in your web browser and grant access. After you did that, go back to the wizard. Please keep in mind that you might not need to enter your username and password if you are already logged in to your browser.

On the local folder options screen, you may sync all of your files on the Nextcloud server, or select individual folders. The default local sync folder is Nextcloud, in your home directory. You may change this as well.

When you have completed selecting your sync folders, click the Connect button at the bottom right. The client will attempt to connect to your Nextcloud server, and when it is successful, the wizard closes itself. You can now observe the sync activity if you open the main dialogue by clicking on the tray icon.
