phpMyAdmin lets you work with your MySQL databases in your browser: import or export them, edit tables, and repair or optimize them.
- Log in to the Client Area, go to Services > My Services and open your hosting service.
- Click Log in to cPanel in the menu on the left.
- In cPanel, click phpMyAdmin. You can also type its name into the Search Tools box at the top.
- phpMyAdmin opens in a new tab. Your databases are listed on the left. Click one to open it.
Import a database (.sql file)
- Click the database on the left. It should be empty, or you'll get "table already exists" errors.
- Click the Import tab.
- Click Choose File and select your .sql file (or .sql.gz / .zip). The page shows the maximum upload size.
- Leave the other options as they are and click Import at the bottom.
If the file is larger than the upload limit, open a support ticket for help.
Export (download) a database
- Click the database on the left, then the Export tab.
- Leave Quick and SQL selected and click Export (or Go). A .sql file downloads.
- To export only some tables, choose Custom and select the tables.
To download a backup of every database at once, use Backup in cPanel.
Browse and edit tables
- Click a table on the left to see its rows. Click Edit on a row to change it, then click Go.
- Use the Search tab to find rows, or the SQL tab to run a query.
Delete or empty a table
Open the database, tick the table and choose Drop (deletes the table) or Empty (deletes its rows but keeps the table) from the With selected menu, then confirm.
Repair or optimize tables
- Open the database. Under the table list, click Check all.
- From the With selected menu, choose Repair table (if you see errors such as "table is marked as crashed") or Optimize table (to reclaim space after deleting lots of data).
